Small Business Development Center

As part of our mission to support entrepreneurship and small business success across Chelan and Douglas counties, the Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority proudly partners with the Washington Small Business Development Center (SBDC) — a statewide network of expert business advisors helping entrepreneurs start, grow, or transition their businesses.

The Washington SBDC offers one-on-one, confidential, and no-cost advising covering all phases of business development. Advisors are often co-located with community colleges, economic development organizations, and government agencies, making support accessible and locally connected.

In addition to personalized advising, the SBDC provides no-cost and low-cost workshops on a wide range of business topics, along with customized market research services to guide strategic decision-making.

The Washington SBDC is part of the national America’s SBDC network and operates under a cooperative agreement between Washington State University, the program’s statewide host, and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

Hispanic Business Council

As part of our commitment to inclusive economic growth, the Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority is proud to highlight the Hispanic Business Council (HBC)—a partner working to build trust and unify Latinx-owned businesses with the broader Wenatchee Valley business community through advocacy, education, and equitable access to resources on a bilingual platform.

Purpose

To build trust and remove barriers through outreach and education.

Guiding Principles

  • Education & Guidance: Share information and tools to support Latinx-owned businesses.

  • Community Integration: Foster partnerships that connect Latinx entrepreneurs with the greater business community.

  • Inclusive Networking: Create opportunities that build trust and ensure equitable access to resources.

  • Educational Programming: Offer bilingual learning opportunities for both Latinx business owners and the wider community.

  • Advocacy: Represent and elevate Latinx-owned businesses while addressing their unique needs and challenges.

Structure & Membership

Operating in alignment with the Wenatchee Valley Chamber of Commerce’s values, the HBC includes 8–15 members appointed by the Chamber’s Board of Directors each October. Members serve three-year terms beginning November 1, working collectively to strengthen the role of Latinx businesses in regional economic vitality.
