SAVE THE DATE!
Walk, Run, or Ride the Runway!
Celebrate the reopening of our newly rehabbed runway with a free community event for all ages. Bring your bike, lace up your sneakers, push a stroller, or just come enjoy the fun!
We’ll also be commemorating the anniversary of the historic flight of Miss Veedol, the aircraft that completed the first nonstop transpacific flight from Misawa, Japan on October 3, 1931, to East Wenatchee, Washington on October 5, 1931.
WHEN: Friday, October 3, 2025 | 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
WHERE: Pangborn Memorial Airport | 1 Pangborn Drive, East Wenatchee, WA 98802
PARKING: Commercial Terminal Parking Lot, enter through Gate 1
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. The evening will officially begin at 6:00 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony and the Walk, Run & Ride event on the runway (the route will be limited to 20 minutes). Enjoy food trucks and the runway celebration after the Walk, Run & Ride
Special Notes:
Stroller-friendly event – bring the whole family.
First 150 participants will receive a free goodie bag.
Motorized scooters and e-bikes are PROHIBITED.
Children can walk, run, or ride on the main runway with everyone else. For those who prefer, we’ll also have a special “mini runway” just for our smaller “passengers” to take off on.
Don’t miss this chance to be part of the community celebration and honor aviation history while experiencing the runway like never before!
Event Routes:
We will officially start the ceremony by cutting the ribbon at 6:00 p.m. to open the runway, followed by our Walk, Run & Ride event. There are two course options—Blue and Green. We’ll start with a wave for the Blue Course, followed by a wave for the Green Course. Participants will have 20 minutes to complete their chosen route, so please plan accordingly.
Why only 20 minutes? To prepare for Miss Veedol’s grand flight after our Walk, Run & Ride, we must immediately conduct a FOD (Foreign Object Debris) walk and security sweep to ensure the runway is safe and clear for the pilots.
We greatly appreciate your understanding, which helps ensure that everyone can safely participate and enjoy the event in every way the runway is enjoyed.
