Trades District Phase II
Building on the Success of the Trades District
The Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority is moving forward with Phase II of the Trades District in East Wenatchee, building on the foundation established through Phase I and creating room for the campus to continue to grow.
Phase II is intended to expand opportunities for small businesses while supporting the long-term development of the Trades District as a destination for businesses, customers and the broader community.
The project is currently in the early stages of design and development, with ALSC Architects leading the design work. The Regional Port is also actively pursuing funding for the approximately $20 million project. As planning progresses, project details will continue to evolve.

A Concept for Phase II
Phase II is being designed to build on the existing Trades District while creating additional opportunities for businesses and strengthening connections across the campus.
The design process is guided by five principles identified by ALSC Architects in collaboration with the Regional Port: flexibility, operational efficiency, community, unity and enhanced identity. These principles are intended to support a variety of businesses, improve operational efficiency, connect new development with the existing Trades District and create a cohesive campus experience.
Planning also considers how elements such as utilities, pedestrian connections, site access, parking, wayfinding and public spaces can work together to support both businesses and the broader Trades District campus.
The Gateway
Following review of several conceptual layouts, the Regional Port Board provided direction to move forward with the Gateway concept as the basis for continued design. The Gateway organizes Phase II around a central public space, with a mix of spaces that could accommodate retail, hospitality and industrial businesses.

Project Funding & Timeline
Phase II is currently estimated to be an approximately $20 million project. The Regional Port is actively seeking funding to support the project.
Because the project remains in the early design and funding stages, the final scope and construction schedule have not yet been determined. Both will continue to be refined as design progresses and funding becomes available.

The Regional Port Board has provided direction to advance ALSC Architects' Gateway concept for continued design and development. The project remains in the early design and funding stage.
